Enter your birth date and time to see your Day Master element, how much Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal and Water your chart holds, and which element is missing.
Convert the birth time into four pillars: the year changes at Li Chun, months change at solar terms, and the day changes at 11 PM.
Read the Day Master, the heavenly stem of the day pillar. Jia and Yi are Wood, Bing and Ding Fire, Wu and Ji Earth, Geng and Xin Metal, Ren and Gui Water.
Weigh the stems and hidden stems (the birth month counts extra) and turn them into percentages. An element that never appears is marked missing.
Born 4 February 1990 at 10:00 in Taipei, just before Li Chun: the pillars are Ji Si, Ding Chou, Geng Zi and Xin Si. The Day Master is Geng, so the element is Metal. The balance is Earth 31.9%, Metal 30.8%, Fire 20.0%, Water 17.3% and Wood 0%, so this chart is missing Wood.
Look at your Day Master, the heavenly stem of the day you were born: Jia and Yi are Wood, Bing and Ding Fire, Wu and Ji Earth, Geng and Xin Metal, Ren and Gui Water. Enter your birth date above and your Day Master element appears at the top of the result.
No. The birth year gives your year pillar and zodiac animal. The element BaZi calls 'yours' is the Day Master element, set by the day you were born. Mixing the two up is why different sites give different answers.
It only means that element doesn't appear in any stem or hidden stem. It isn't a missing ability, and it doesn't automatically need to be added; that depends on how strong the Day Master is.
Yes. Without the hour you'll see the pillars that stay the same all day and those that change with the hour (after 11 PM the day pillar moves to the next day). The percentages need the birth hour.
